Do you remember that there are exactly sixty seconds in one minute? I was wondered to learn that for some prepaid phone card developers one minute - only 36 seconds. IDT in legal proceedings against a number of their opponents said that it is difficult to contend on a level playing field when a minute is not a minute. As some corporations-providers of prepaid phone cards resorted to the unfair rivalry procedures, IDT/UTA (Union Telecard Alliance) decided to defend their privileges using the legal methods. IDT/UTA had asserted that unlike its proper calling cards, those of many of their rivals deliver just approximately 60 percent of the minutes of telephone services announced and promoted on voice help heard by clients in connection with calls performed by utilizing the defendants' cards and advertised by such competitors on th TV, magazines, poster, global network, or other medium. Recently Total Call International and IDT/UTA was accused of illegitimate actions by the group of phone corporations that comprised IDT Telecom Inc. and LLC. Earlier IDT/UTA began legal procedure versus the group of defendants for three times. Epana Networks, Inc., Dollar Phone Corp. and related companies, and Locus Telecommunications, Inc are also involved into the trial. IDT/UTA's lawsuit against the remaining accused is still persisting in federal court in Newark, New Jersey. Newly I have found a post on one of telephone card related blogs where a softswitch manufacturer showed his system. One of the characteristics he takes pride in was the ability to set the duration of the minute to as long as you want. Other characteristic was to randomly keep back a minute from your balance. Moreover, they explained that it is standard on all calling card systems. I didn't believe that it was true. But today when I saw IDT communique, I realize that they were credible right. If you can primitively count, that you can estimate how many minutes you will get on the account buying an international phone card. The proportion is 100 minutes by only $1! But remember to select the phone card properly, and make sure that you get the quantity of units which you pay for. The companies, which have been drawn in that story, promised to return the whole amount of units to their client as soon as possible. If the companies, prosecuted by the judicial power, agreed the proposal faster, they will have a chance to be moved of from the list of lawbreakers. They should also agree to promote industry good usages and rules which defend customers of prepaid card services and that set up a level playing field for all companies that sell, and supply telecommunications services for, prepaid cards. The methods, that will precisely examine all the actions related to the pay beforehand cards, will be designed by that corporations. The participants consented to promote the effective monitoring system free for everybody that wants to control the operations.
